Modernist inspired clean, sharp lines transform this tired 50's post war home in Bardon. There is an intentional distinction between what is new and what is old that helps tell the story of the home's evolution.

The owners were keen to live on the ground plane at the rear of the property where a large backyard is framed by a perimeter of dense trees. The property is oriented to the south and to ensure good access to natural light, a large section of the existing upper floor has been removed and full height glazing added to allow the ambient light to penetrate deep into the house.

The existing house has been lifted and the land excavated to create room for a large 5 bedroom residence.

Budget: $550k
